MeNami *.

We came to MeNami for an early dinner on the weekend. 
Why is is still so colddd D:

They had a cool St. Patty's Day green-theme for their interior. Snapped & took lots of pics heh.

It is the same owner from Han Ba Tang that opened this restaurant. 

The interior is similar to HBT - very hipster haha.

ROASTED PORK BELLY (4/5)

This was delicious! Loved the marinated pork belly. It wasn't too fatty, *like*! :)

SMOKED SALMON with parsnip sauce (4/5)

The smoked salmon was very fresh. The parsnip sauce paired surprisingly well with the salmon. 

BEEF UDON (2/5)

There was a mishap with the kitchen with my beef udon... can PM me for details but I'll just leave it at that. The owner was nice about it though! 
I'll still return to try other things on the menu.

Ruby Watchco *.

My boyfriend took me to Ruby Watchco for dinner. 
This is a part of a #petersurprise for us meeting in March LOL

Canadian Chef Lynn Crawford opened this place! 

P has been talking about how he watched her cooking shows etc so we came here to try it out.

Service was excellent. The atmosphere is warm and cozy.

 Their complimentary bread, similar to their restaurant atmosphere lol, was also nice and warm!

 DRINKS:
* Pinot red wine (for him)

 * Chardonnay white wine (for me)

It seems like they change up their menus often. 
Our menu for the night includes:

SMOKED COD & BACON SALAD (5/5)

This was so delish!! Loved the cod x salad combination. We really enjoyed this as our appetizer. Opened up our tummies for our mains :)

HANGER STEAK with RUBY'S STEAK SAUCE (3/5)

The steak was the main dish and we were both looking forward to it the most. Unfortunately, it was rather dry :( The sides that came with the steak were amazing though!!

* they were the highlight of the night!

* Mashed carrot & sweet potato

* Red onion relish & feta creamy parsnips with vanilla salted almonds

* Foraged mushrooms & spinach

All of the above were SO good, we were surprised that it was even better than the main!

ARTISANAL CHEESE w date & orange marmalade (4/5)

I really liked the cheese, the marmalade made a great pairing.

JUNE'S CARROT CAKE with coffee frosting and caramel (5/5)

Loved this! The coffee frosting was bitter on its own but eating the carrot cake combined with the caramel sauce made this dessert so delicious :D

I wasn't able to drink green beer today because the pub our group went to didn't have it -_-; 
Ended up with a Guinness again (happens each timeeee haha).
P wasn't part of this btw heh. Note* notice P's big arms from working out lolol

Anyhow, I came to Moji a few weeks ago.
What a cute looking shop! 

The interior reminds me of an elementary school (the fun painting classes loll).

DRINKS: 

Matcha milk tea (4/5)
I really liked this! The taste is similar to the green tea latte powder I buy from Muji.
Yummy :)

TOFU AVOCADO SALAD (5/5)
Couldn't stop eating this - I love avocados; this is a cold dish. The sauce isn't too strong in this salad so it was perfect to order prior to our main meals. 

TAKOYAKI (3.5/5)
Could use more octopus bits in the takoyakis! Yummy nonetheless.

TERIYAKI CHICKEN DON (4/5)
Mmm! Teriyaki chicken was delicious - at first we thought the rice portion was too little but since we ordered a few appetizers, the portions worked out.

GYU UDON (4/5)
The udon is nice and chewy (I don't like mushy udons).

Will return to try other things on the menu :)

鼎泰豐 101店 Din Tai Fung - Taipei, Taiwan *.

We came to Din Tai Fung for lunch with PB's parents. (thx for taking us!)

We had to get some shopping done at Taipei 101 so this is the perfect spot to go :) 

Service was excellent - I liked how they place our coats / bags in a separate cart beside our table so it wouldn't get dirty.

We ordered (A LOT!):

* 3 side dishes (beans, beansprouts and a mix of seaweed & beansprouts)

XIAO LONG BAO (5/5)

This was soo delish!! Usually the XLBs are really oily, but the ones here were juicy and fresh - doesn't get you bloated :D

DUMPLINGS IN CHILLI SAUCE (5/5)

My favourite dish out of everything that we've ordered! The chilli sauce was house-made, we saved the sauce for dipping other dishes that we've ordered hehe. I nommed almost all of this hahaha

DRUNKEN CHICKEN (4/5)

There were barely any chicken fat between the skin & the meaty part - so good!

aaand we flipped it :D

GYOZA (4/5)

The crispy part tasted like chips - the gyozas were delicious but it would be 5/5 if the meat inside was more juicy.

PORKCHOP + RICE (4/5)

This was recommended to us by P's dad; the pork chop isn't oily O_O how'd they do that!
Rice was cooked very well.

VEGGIE DUMPLINGS (3/5)

This type of dumpling requires a lot of sauce to make it taste good - good thing we saved the chilli sauce for it!!

SWEET STICKY RICE (3/5)

I liked the sweet rice but the plums etc. on the top was meh :S

TONG YUEN / TANG YUAN - GLUTINOUS RICE BALLS (5/5)

This was the best sesame tang yuans EVER. Must order!! I loved it! This was a great end to our meal. We were extremely full but I'd highly recommend ordering this dessert. The glutinous balls had a thin layer and the sesame portion inside the rice ball was perfect! Loved it :) Thanks for giving me the last tong yuen Uncle T HAHA :D

PBB and I came here for an afternoon tea session around Chinese New Year. 
We were extremely jetlagged when we came here D:

Service was excellent - Multiple waiters / host checked on us on good intervals.

The tea sets were so cute and delicate, we had a great time :)

Our set was CNY themed (We had cute monkey themed cookies with our sets!), which included:

* Golden Turnip Cake
* Toasted Crumpet with Smoked Salmon & Chive Cream Cheese
* Signature Crabmeat & Prawn Salad Burger

* Wild Mushroom Ragoût on Crispy Rice Cracker

Our top three picks were the short rib burger, red bean cake and the wild mushroom ragoût on rice cracker. Delicious! (Thanks for being the hand model again PB LOL)
