Hey Lucy *.

Came to Hey Lucy for Karen's birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL~

My best shot of the cake - haha more on snap.
Karen and I established that this place is good for a date where you're JUST getting to know the person because it is LOUD here; the awkward silences you might have will be - well, less awkward hahaha

WOOD FIRED ROSEMARY CHICKEN PANINI (3/5)
(roast chicken, balsamic roasted onion, basil pesto & tomato)

The kale salad that I ordered as the side was really good. The panini was good but could be better if they marinated the chicken slices more. I would've liked it better if there was more sauce.

PB ordered the STEAK FRITES (3/5)

Service was great but we didn't know there was a plating fee for birthday cakes until the bill came (be waaarned!).

My one and only tribute to Karen:

Then we finished the night off at Second City - pretty funny :D
It was the Hotline Bling theme LOL

Moji Japanese Eatery - update *.

Whaaat :( My second visit here and came with Fefe for girls talk hahaha
I felt Moji went downhill! On the plus side, I took pretty photos of my food :]

[or maybe it's the company.. LOL KIDDING FEHO]

Service was great but unfortunately, the food quality wasn't.

ICED MARSHMELLOW CHOCOLATE (1/5)

This was pretty bad; there was a huge chunk of whipped cream that covered most of my chocolate drink. It was also too sweet, I can only taste sugary-water and no chocolate flavour. The positive part is that it looks really cute for pictures haha.. My friend, Feho, was saying how he was very glad he didn't order my drink because it screams calories, GREAT for his abs challenge bwaha

CURRY CHICKEN DON (rice) (2/5)

This dish came in room-temperature D: The chicken bits were marinated separately from the curry sauce so there were 3 different choppy flavours to this rice bowl: curry sauce with veggies without curry flavours, chicken strips, rice. Will not order this again.

I hope they improve their quality of food soon!
The first visit I had was great, don't know what happened now :(
We had a good time chatting since the place looks so cute but that's the only positive note from that night lol D:

Patria *.

P and I had a spontaneous date night at Patria because we were both craving paellas :P

Patria has a romantic and dim ambiance.

I liked their wine selections in particular

Service was okay.

BOMBAS CON SALSA BRAVA (3/5)
(Chorizo, aioli, spicy piquillo sauce)

I think this is what we ordered, can't really remember the name - we did not expect the dish to come out as a flatbread..

PAELLA DE BOGAVANTE (4/5)
(Lobster, gulf shrimp, chorizo and peas)

Definitely satisfied our paella cravings with this order :)
Loved the lobster - it was in big chunks!
The portions of rice and seafood were perfect.
We would order this again. The portion size is for two people, which worked with us.

Sweet Jesus *.

My new favourite ice cream place!
P and I visited Sweet Jesus twice now - the other time we went for a double date :)

Expect to wait in line because both times that we've visited here, there's always so many people.
The wait isn't bad though!

Here are the flavours that we've tried:

CAMPFIRE S'MORES (4/5)
(Burnt mashmellow & chocolate twist, graham crackers, chocolate sauce, vanilla soft serve)

We liked this a lot because it wasn't just the soft serve ice cream that was good; it's the combination of the crackers etc. gives it more texture.

BANGING BROWNIE (3/5)
(Dark chocolate brownie chunks, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, chocolate soft serve)

It tastes better than it looks... hahaha Loved the chocolate soft serve; but the combination of the other things made it too sweet.

(didn't take a picture of this, we ended up putting it in a cup to eat haha)

COOKIES & CREAM (4/5)
(I think there's another name for this ice cream... it's the one with oreo!)

My favourite out of the ones we've tried so far.. I liked the oreo cookie crumbles the most :D

Miku Toronto *.

We came to Miku restaurant for Pbb's birthday.

❤ Happy birthday PBB

Miku is now our new favourite Japanese restaurant in Toronto :D Service was excellent. The quality and portion of food was perfect.

We started our birthday adventure with Little Mermaid's Musical in the afternoon.. it was perfecttt omg I loved it. We watched Beauty and the Beast earlier this year but I think Little Mermaid's musical performance was better. Beauty and the Beast won in terms of production though :)

Miku's interior is very spacious; a modern Japanese resto-feel.

I wouldn't mind sitting at the bar area actually, but I would prefer the table seats rather than the sushi bar because you cannot see the sushi chef make sushis due to the design of the bar.

We ordered the KAISEKI four course menu which was the perfect portion [for Piggy K].

DRINKS:
* Paua Bay Sauvignon Blanc [White] - Mine
* Otokoyama Tokubetsu Junmai [Sake] - His

First off - the appetizer! What a cute display :)

* 1 - COAL HARBOUR PLATTER

(fresh oysters, oyster shooters, mussels, clams, jumbo prawns, poke, and scallop ceviche with kale gomae)

This was so fresh and delicious.
We noticed the chefs really like to use daikon to pair with their sashimi.

It was soo good :) Rich in flavour and did not take away the freshness of the seafood. Loved it!

* 2 - MAIN DISH
(we chose the Prime ribs and Sablefish)

My sablefish plate

P's prime ribs (medium rare)

My sablefish choice was better than PB's prime rib choice :P
This happened so many times already LOL.. I loooved the marinated sablefish!
It was sweet and soft - perfect. I will order this again when I re-visit Miku.

* 3 - ASSORTMENT OF FLAMED-SEARED SUSHI

It's too geeewwwddd - how'd they make the rice so rich and creamy?!

Definitely one of the best highlights of our meal.
So delicious - I loved all of the assortment of sushis.
One of the best picks of our assortment was the rolled tuna sushi and also, the pressed sockeye salmon in Miku's signature sauce with jalapeno.

* 4 - MATCHA OPERA CAKE (Dessert)

The matcha opera cake consisted of 7 layers: matcha butter cream, hazelnut wafers, chocolate ganache and azuki ( アズキ) bean cream. There was also matcha ice cream on the side.

Birthday boy and his green tea cake

I was super full by the time our desserts came so Pbear nommed the rest of my dessert for me, lucky him haha.

^ Look at my attempt to hide the waiter LOL.. D:

We loved our experience at Miku and will definitely return to try more things on the menu.

Initium Cafe *.

Came to the cafe part of Initium with my friends because we saw a lot of cute IG posts of their coffee art. The interior is dim-lit and cozy. The cafe part of Initium is on the left side of the salon.

HOT WHITE CHOCOLATE w Baymax coffee art (3/5)

The baymax coffee art is so cute! +1
The drink was okay - it wasn't hot enough for my liking.
The sweetness level was good though.

Dom ordered the TOASTED MARSHMELLOW LATTE (decaf), which apparently wasn't decaffeinated at all because he couldn't sleep at night hahaha..

HAM & EGG THICK TOAST

I didn't order this either, was too stuffed from dinner. My friends said it was yummy though!
