I have a couple more of my birthday posts coming! :D #decemberbaby!

My boyfriend brought me to Byblos for my birthday celebration! #petersurprise
It was so funny because Pai was around the area too and P kept trying to troll me and pushing me to open Pai's doors. I won't fall for this troll THAT easily!! Muaha! Thx PBB for organizing~

We loved our experience at Byblos and decided to revisit :) Service was excellent. Our server had great recommendations for popular items on the menu and was very friendly. The atmosphere is candlelit and dim, good for dates!

ORGANIC HOUSE LABNEH (5/5)
(Fennel + Honey + Olive Oil + Barbari Bread)

Tasted like a very yummy humus haha! It's soo delicious! The bread was covered with different types of sesame seeds so eating the bread itself was already very tasty. Adding the labneh was a plus! Loved it!

EGGPLANT KIBBEH (4/5)
(Zucchini Flower + Baharat + Chickpea Batter + House Yogurt)

I was super excited to try this crispy eggplant again but I realized they cooked it differently from how they did before. I'd prefer the crispy eggplant than this way of cooking. Both are still good.

WAGYU LAHMEH PIDE (5/5)
(House Turkish Paste + Fior De Latte + Toum + Basil Cress)

How can flat bread taste so good?! I'd order this again and again. The wagyu paste was delicious and the bread itself was very chewy. This dish wasn't dry at all because a lot of cheese was drenched on top of the bread. The smell makes you even more hungry.

GRILLED WHOLE BRANZINO (5/5)
(Chermoula + Saffron Toum + Watercress)

We came back for more of this!! I told my friends to order this dish at Byblos and all their reactions were like.."Fish..?!" Yes! Fish! They make it so good! The fish meat is drenched with flavour and the best part of this is.. It's boneless!


DESSERTS:

LOUKOUMADES (5/5)
(Attiki Honey + Walnut Praline + Burnt Honey Ice Cream + Halva)

Tasted like chewy donuts dipped with honey glaze. It tastes really really good - especially the burnt honey ice cream! I suggest eating each of these little bits separately first. Each one has its own flavour. Once mixed together, it creates another type of texture!

PIZZELLE (3/5)
(Baklava Ice Cream + Salted Caramel + Cous Cous Praline)

The Baklava ice cream was amazinggg! The cous cous praline on top of the cookie was also delicious. The only thing lacking was the cookie itself. It was kind of soggy.

& awww! I was surprised when the dessert came with "Happy Birthday" on it. I actually forgot the surprise dinner was for my birthday for a sec (LOL) and when people came out to sing to me, I was still "hmm?" ?_?

😻 As part of the December celebrations, P won a modeling competition..!! Before we think about them VS models.. It's DATA modeling!! Bwahaha congrats b! ❤

The highlight of the night would be the live band performance during our dessert session. Service was great.

VEGGIE TOMATO SOUP (3/5)

Good mix of broth and veggie portion. Could be less salty.

GRILLED CHICKEN, POTATO & SAUERKRAUT (3.5/5)

The chicken was surprisingly very juicy! Would've preferred it more if they added more sauce because the potatoes were kind of dry. I thought the portion was too little at first, but filled us up after we kept eating haha.

APPLE PIE (3.5/5)

It would be nice if this came warm. It was cold! But the taste is great.

+ stars goes to the live performance we had during desserts.
It was a band of three people, performing the saxophone, accordion and cello. It was wonderful :)

It has been a busy busy week for me! 
Birthday month :D 
Since Yelp does not have Hungary pages to update, I'll just comment lightly on the places I've visited :)

😻 Standing on the beautiful architectural walls of the Fisherman's Bastion 

😻  Right across the Fisherman's Bastion stands the church of St. Matthias 

What a gorgeous church! The highlight of this church are the roof tilts, which are Zsolnay ceramic tiles.

😻 After a long day of excursions, our dinner place was at Domus Vinorum. This restaurant is famous for their large and wide selection of wines :)

😻 The wine cellar extends from the top floor (ceiling to the floor!) to the basement cellars (where the better stuff are stored)

What a beautiful city! It is the capital of Slovakia. 
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza which was notably the nicest hotel in the city (thank god haha)

We had dinner at the hotel, which apparently hosted a lot of Miss Universe events before! :D

Loved our dining experience at Piaristenkeller! 
The restaurant is located right beside a church.

We did not expect this restaurant to have such a large interior. 

Once you first enter the main doors of this restaurant, you will walk down a flight of stairs which leads you into a larger dining area.

I was told a lot of people have tripped on this staircase before because its steps are uneven, so be careful! 

The decor has so much history and class. I spent quite a bit of time looking at the many displays exhibited around the dining tables. Service was excellent.

It was a clear soup with lots of veggie flavour. I would've preferred it if they toned down the salt.

PORK SCHNITZEL (5/5)

Omg, this was delicious! The pork schnitzel had the right thickness to it - not too much flour and not too much meat. This dish also came with potatoes and salad on the side. Loveddd this! 

APPLE PIE (5/5)

One of the best apple pies I've ever had. It's hard to balance out the soury and sweet flavours from the pie and the apple. This dessert had it done right. It came sizzling hot, which was another plus. 

I'd recommend this restaurant to my friends who plan on visiting Vienna :)

😻 The highlight of the day is that I bought necklaces and a pair of earrings from the largest Swarovski store in the world.. located right at the city centre of Vienna :D 


ANSWER TO QUESTION ABOVE: 

Those are wine drips! Fill up the wine at the very top and it allows the wine to trickle down from the little valve.. It's a very classy display :D
