Rawlicious - Markham *.

Dom and I were looking for a "detox" meal with less meats and came across Rawlicious at Markham main street. Service was good. We ordered two entrees for our visit and were still fairly hungry when we left hahaha.

We actually went to Papa Chang's afterwards and ordered three more dishes. (Dom finished most of it though). #sorrynotsorry

PAD THAI (2/5)
(Zucchini & kelp noodles, shredded romaine lettuce, carrots & bell peppers mixed in a tangy Thai sauce topped with green onions & crumbled cashews.)

More Thai sauce would make this dish much better! There wasn't much taste to this entree. If you like the original taste of zucchini and kelp, then this entree is for you. There isn't much sauce, so you're tasting the raw ingredients itself. It's literally what the ingredients are, tossed in a bowl loll -_-;;

QUESADILLAS (3/5)
(Cashew cheddar cheese, crumbled nut loaf, salsa, avocado, & romaine lettuce in a red pepper wrap. Served with kaleslaw.)

This had a lot more flavour than the pad thai. I actually liked this dish in comparison. I'm a big fan of avocado and they added a lot of it within the quesadilla. The portion is very small though, the size seems to be for an appetizer instead of an entree.

Worth the money? Nooope. D:
We honestly could've ordered 5 more items at Papa Chang's with the same amount of money we've spent on these two entrees hahaa.

Lisa Marie *.

My girl friends and I were determined to have a Sunday brunch session.

We had to wake up for an early yoga session to head here!

*Yoga was so much funnn* lol look at us hammock-ing

We made reservations at Lisa Marie beforehand but we still had to wait 15-20 mins for our table -_-...

Service was okay.

SHAKSHUKAH (3/5)
(Eggs baked in a spicy tomato sauce with roasted peppers, eggplant, zucchini and red onions, topped with crumbled feta and served with rustic bread)

The first bite was SO GOOD! Then it went downhill because the taste gets bland from there. It's the same flavour throughout. I was getting so tired of the taste half way into my meal, same goes for Cee. We both had to snatch some food off of Karen, who ordered the LAMB SHANK AND GRITS - who ALSO had the same problem with the blandness of her meal. All in all, I would recommend a group to share these brunch items that I've mentioned to avoid blandness.

* Fried Chicken + Salad

* Fried Chicken + potato wedges

Side note: The girls who ordered the fried chicken highly recommends it!
I tried a few pieces of this too.. very juicy and yummy.

Dolce 21 Dessert House *.

Came to Dolce21 on a girls day out with Feho LOL

We dedicated one full day to our love of desserts #quotamaxedout

We saw a lot of cute IG posts of the soft served ice cream and wanted to give it a try.

COTTON CANDY with Matcha ice cream (3/5)
(with caramel popcorn)

Doesn't this remind you of JOHNNY BRAVO?! hahaha "Hey there cutie pants".

I love cotton candy :D The cotton candy of the day was grape flavoured. It was so yummy but I honestly wouldn't be able to taste the difference in the cotton candy flavour unless they give me a different flavour to try lol. It's probably one of the most fancy looking items on their menu - good for IG purposes.

The matcha ice cream was a bit powdery and had a bitter green tea taste to it; I would've liked this soft serve ice cream more if it was more on the sweet side. Also, if they added more caramel popcorn in the mix with the ice cream, it would've given a better texture to the dessert.

Feho ordered the Japanese Green Tea Mochi with soft serve ice cream.  I actually realized I didn't ask him if he liked the ice cream hahaha #unimportant #dontkillme

DT Bistro-Patisserie *.

We came to DT Bistro for brunch on a sunny and beautiful day~
What an adorable place!
I love all the decor on the ceiling :)

There's us! ^ Great for photo ops!

Hi Sillay~
Service was excellent.

The weather was so nice *happy tears*; they open up the windows when it's nice out.

Cute displays everywhere.
The place gets packed for brunch time so I'd recommend booking a table ahead of time.

✿ Our flower power at our table

DRINKS:

* Coffee [unlimited refills]
* Cappuccino

BISTRO EGGS BENEDICT (4/5) [Mine!]
(Smoked Salmon, Croissant, Hollandaise)

The hollandaise sauce was delicious - very yummy and the portions were huge!

SEARED AHI TUNA AND BACON SANDWICH (4/5)
(Sesame Crusted Tuna, Bacon Strips, Side Salad or Fries)

The seared tuna was very fresh. We ordered the fries instead of the salad.

I would prefer this more if they added more sauce in the sandwich, but my sis, who ordered it, preferred it without the sauce haha

CHIPOTLE SHORT RIB SANDWICH (3/5)

The meat was a little dry, which made it harder to finish up (we had so much leftovers for this one!)

VEAL CHEEK CURRY (4/5)
(Grilled Veal Cheek, Vietnamese Curry, Coconut Milk, Side Naan, House Pickle)

We all thought this was a weird choice for a brunch session but my boyfriend ended up ordering this anyways. This was actually really delicious! Good job haha. The veal cheek was very tender and juicy. The curry was just the right amount of spiciness - we asked for "regular" spicy.

Kiu Japanese Restaurant *.

♣ Happy June everyone!!

I visited Kiu a couple of times for dinner.
:O Surprised at the ratings so far - I like this restaurant!

It's located at the VIP theatre plaza; on the other side of the theatre (beside Goodlife).

I give +stars for its environment because it is very clean and spacious.
I also like how there's a lot of windows, lots of light!

It said on the menu that the chef choice sashimi platter is imported from Tsukiji Market.
(One of my fav sashimi go-to places in Japan!)

MANKUNOUCHI BOX (4/5)
The display is so cute :D

Loved all the items in the bento box, minus one item, which was the tuna fish guts [top right of the picture]. It looked slimy and gooey and we didn't want to try it but I did anyways. Its flavour tasted like it was marinated in Korean-style spicy sauce / wasabi sauce and the texture was raw octopus-like, very chewy.
I wouldn't eat it again hahaha

The fish roe was delicious :) Also, the saba!

STUFFED CHICKEN WING DUMPLING (4/5)
[deep fried chicken wings stuffed with minced wagyu beef, pork, shiso, water chestnuts, cabbage & chives]

This is always my go-to dish in Japanese izakayas. Loved it! I order this each time I visit Kiu
If there was more sauce that goes with it, it would make it a lot better!

PRESSED SUSHI (3/5)
[12 pc of 4 kinds of sushi / 3pc each]

I liked the torched salmon pressed sushi the most. There was beef, mackerel... etc.

You don't even know how many times I attempted to take that picture above... hahaha..
It would've been better if the pressed sushi could be held up by chopsticks, it kept falling apart :(

BLACK COD FISH (5/5)

Nothing can go wrong with cod fish. Love ittt

TAKOYAKI (3/5)

Nothing special, would've liked it more if they added more sauce on top.

KARAAGE (3.5/5)

The chicken wasn't dry - it was nice, crispy and hot :)

* RAMEN SETS

Overall, the ramen sets weren't that good. (I thought this place was opened up by a ramen place..!!)
I'd recommend the sushi/sashimi here instead.

WHITE SESAME SHIO RAMEN (3/5)

The neat part about this ramen is that it comes a cute wooden tool that you can grind the sesame seeds with.

ASSARI LIGHT SHOYU RAMEN (2/5)

It lives up to what it's supposed to be, a very light broth - but the broth was too light, which made it not have much taste. (I didn't order this haha)

ROASTED GARLIC SHOYU RAMEN (3.5/5)

The most flavourful out of all the ramen sets I've tried. I'd recommend this out of the three.
