Live Nation Night Run *.

My friends and I all signed up for the Night Run / Rave Run which was held at Woodbine Race Track! A night of glowsticks and residues of horses in the air.. hahaha

I went to an Electrodash event held at Wonderland back then - in comparison, Electrodash had a better production but both were still fun. I'd recommend the Wonderland venue if they hold another event there.

Highlight of the night was Tony's fall. LOL

On the positive note, Pbb is a fast runner :D hahaha
Here's part of the boy group for the night:

We're at the finish line!!!

Yu Seafood 漁膳房 *.

I came to Yu Seafood (漁膳房) with my family for dinner.

The quality of food was great; the service was okay.

We were seated in one of the rooms at the back of the restaurant for dinner.
And the first ones to arrive!

We ordered from the VIP Menu

Planned for a seafood evening, which means, white wine :)!

Highlights of the night:

* Japanese red snapper sashimi platter

- Loved the red snapper sashimi, sooo fresh!
We would order more of this dish if we didn't order that many lol

* Stir Fried Lobster with Noodle Fish & Garlic

- This was one of my favourites! The lobster absorbed so much flavour. It was stacked up like jenga for the display. Cool display but we found it tough getting the lobster pieces.

 * King Crab meat with eggs + veggie

* Steamed King crab legs

* Steamed green bass

- I loved this fish. It was very freshly cooked. Juicy and soft in texture.
The sauce needs improvement and more sauce would've made it taste better.

* King Crab boiled with sake

- Very yummy. The display was also picture-worthy.

The sake flavour wasn't that strong, I actually couldn't taste it in the king crab.

"Premium" dessert of the day:

It was grass jelly and watermelons LOLL.. I was like, what premium....?!
I liked the dessert nonetheless... It wasn't exactly what I thought as what a "premium dessert" is though lol

They have a Yu Seafood market right beside the restaurant too. We went to check it out after dinner.. We were surprised that they open so late! (closes at 9pm)

Cabana Pool Bar *.

Went to Cabana Pool Bar with my friends for Steve Angello's event.
It was so much fun!
Open air venues are always better :)

Successful candid shot from P's phone..
Found this picture without knowing he took one while we were getting ready to pose.. loll

Yes, the games were on the huge screen while Manzone & Strong were playing.

#SteveAngello!
Manzone and Strong played before Steve got on stage. They were pretty good too.
Angello's set was more house edm whereas M&S is more on the trance side.

Richmond Station *.

My boyfriend and I came to Richmond Station for dinner and we both loved it! :)
5 stars goes out to the quality of food and service.
Our waitress was very friendly and attentive to our table.

We ordered the TASTING MENU, the chef chooses your dishes for the night and surprise you :) When you order, the waitress will ask if you have any food allergies / things you would not want as part of the chef choices. I requested not to include blue cheese / goat cheese :P

DRINKS:

WHITES - NV RONDINELLA BIANCO "IL BIANCO" x 2

OYSTERS ON THE HALF SHELL (5/5)
(house condiments, horseradish, lemon)

Mmm.. so yummy and fresh! Great light start to our tasting menu.

CRISPY POLENTA FRIES (5/5)
(truffled aioli, parmigiano, chives)

This is my favourite dish out of the tasting menu. The fries were delicious - very crispy on the outside. My favourite part of this is the truffled aioli - LOVED it!!

MARINATED TOMATO SALAD (5/5)
(red pepper puree, garlic croutons, arugula, cucumber, red wine vinaigrette)

I'm not a big fan of tomato salads.. but this got me like D:!! I really want to know how to make the red wine vinaigrette for this salad. It was light but flavourful. After you finish, it leaves you feeling healthier haha. Also, the garlic croutons were huge!

MUSHROOM AGNOLOTTI (4/5)
(summer greens, truffled goats cheese, basil, pickled shiitake, fried sourdough)

The display of the agnolotti pasta was pretty. Placed on a hot plate - kept the pasta nice and hot. One big pasta roll was enough because we were already getting a bit full from the previous chef selections (actually maybe only I was getting full, my boyfriend eats a lot haha).

GRILLED SALMON (4/5)
(asparagus purée, beans, asparagus)

Crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. Loved the asparagus purée pairing because it wasn't too thick and it doesn't cover the freshness of the salmon flavour.

DUCK CONFIT (5/5)
(onions, radish, house sauce)

Whatever they marinated the duck confit with, it was so good. Usually when it's marinated, it becomes too salty, but this duck confit was perfect. The onions and radish for the sides also made it a good palette cleanser.

DESSERT:

CINNAMON AND ORANGE SORBET (5/5)

I always look forward to the dessert menu at Richmond Station because they never disappoint me! For the tasting menu, the dessert was a cinnamon and orange sorbet. I personally is not a big fan of oranges (I don't hate it though), but they made the orange sorbet so good!! There was a great mix of texture as well. There's a combination of crunchy cookie bits and nuts, meringue and whip cream-like sauce. So yummy!!

Will definitely come back :)

Me Va Me Kitchen Express *.

Me Va Me was alright.
(The reviews are actually pretty low on Yelp.)
The good thing about this place is that it's spacious and clean!
Service was excellent.

CHICKEN SHARWARMA ON HUMMUS (3/5)

We ordered the naan bread on the side to dip with the hummus. This was good! But there was a bit too much oil on the hummus than I would've liked. The portion is big - good for two people to share.

CHICKEN SCHNITZEL (3.5/5)
(Chicken breast coated in breadcrumbs and sesame seeds with schnitzel sauce on the side)

I liked their schnitzel! It was nice and hot, freshly made.
The chicken was crispy on the outside and surprisingly not dry in the middle.

Side note

I came here the same time as the fire that happened at the electronic store in the plaza - I felt so bad for the owner!! Did anyone else witness this? I actually saw the start of the fire when the owner was panicking.. then the cops came and blocked off the walkway while we all watched the place burn from our Me Va Me seats.. D: I think it was the hover-boards that were burning up, which sparked all the other electronics in the store too - not too sure but it looked like that from where I was seated.
The smoke got so bad that the whole theatre had to be evacuated too!

Relating back to Me Va Me, no one evacuated us while the whole plaza was on shut down lol.

Jamie’s Italian *.

I was sooo excited when Jamie's Italian opened up at Yorkdale.
I really liked the Jamie's restaurants in the UK - now they finally have it in Toronto!

Unfortunately, it was nothing like my experience back in England..

Service was excellent but the food quality wasn't good. I give this place 2.5 stars.

CRAB & AVOCADO BRUSCHETTA (3/5)
(Fresh crab, crunchy fennel, smashed avocado, yogurt & chili)

This was a good start to our meal. I liked this because they have avocado in it! Note that the portion is very small. There's only one bruschetta.

Good job Sillay for the knife cutting skills hahaha

MEATBALL PAPPARDELLE (2/5)
(Pork & fennel meatballs in tomato sauce with pangrattato & Parmigiano Reggiano)

We didn't like this at all. The meatballs are supposed to be pork but for some reason, it tasted and smelt like lamb..? I'm okay with lamb but the smell was off from what we expected.
The pasta wasn't hot enough, and it lacks flavour.
We were pretty disappointed in the quality of the pasta!

So all in all, we burnt our wallets from shopping (I'm serious.. LOL) then since went to cute bakery at Yorkdale for a hot cocoa & croissant break :D
