Touhenboku Ramen Restaurant *.

Had lunch at Touhenboku Ramen Restaurant
The line started building up closer to noon. Service was alright.

I ordered the ramen with:
* Chicken soup
* Thin noodles
* Soy sauce seasoning
* Pork belly

Omg, the ramen was wayyy too salty. I had to drink so much water - also didn't feel that good after eating because of the saltiness. I'll probably not return. On the positive note, the interior was clean and the ramen shop sign is very cute.. haha

Toronto Popcorn Company *.

Toronto Popcorn Company is definitely a must-go place for popcorn lovers! The colour scheme of the popcorns are so cute.
I'm oooo-kayy with popcorn but I loved the wide selection of popcorn here.
My friend introduced me to this place (and took me here!).

There are samples available of the different types of popcorn; choose your pick prior to buying :)

My recommendations:
* Green Apple
* Watermelon
* Toffee
* Espresso Caramel

* There's also BACON flavoured popcorn for those who like bacon!
(Although I don't really like bacon haha, I know, surprise surprise).

Hard to find parking though - better make your pick and get out fast haha.

TOT the Cat Café *.

Toronto's first cat cafe! :D

I've been on the watch for this place to open - bugging P about coming here! :D

So much anticipation for this cafe - and it's great because the kitties are from the Toronto Humane Society for everyone to love.

I got to play with Tiana the kitty cat the most, so adorable!

What to expect:

You have to sign in at the back of the store and wait your turn before entering the "cat room" to play with the kitties. Each session is 15 minutes.

During the wait time, you can purchase a drink - the drink can also be brought into the cat room (although you'll be too busy playing with the cats, you'll neglect your drink).

Prior to entering the cat room, you will be asked to switch from your outdoor shoes to cat slippers to maintain cleanliness.

* suggestion for owners: for the sign up sheet, I think the process would be better if people are assigned numbers instead of putting down our first names - it gets confusing and hard to hear during the wait for the cat room! :)

Le Sélect Bistro *.

Came to Le Sélect Bistro for a Christmas GNO dinner.
We loved it! Wine and dined :D
Service was great and the food quality was good. For my friends that drove here, they complimented on the availability of parking space.

DRINKS:

MERLOT/CAB

CONFIT DE CANARD (4/5)
(duck leg confit with crispy skin, served with veggies, potatoes au gratin)

Mm.. this was so yummy!! There's an option for one / two duck legs - I should've ordered two!! The duck leg size was not that big so if you're hungry I would suggest you order two duck legs. Moni and I grabbed snacks after dinner because we were still hungry.. but this duck confit was so delicious! I'd come back and order this again :)

Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse *.

 It's December baby!!
It's the month of December aka my bday month muaha :D
After a whole day of #PBsurprises, we finished off with a lovely dinner.

We had dinner at Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse  on my birthday, thanks babe ❤  I loved it!!
(and I guessed it right again muahaha - actually guessed two things right in total ;) )

* MENU

5/5 stars for both service and quality of food.
We will definitely come back for more steaks :)

DRINKS:

2011 "Il Tarocco", Chianti Classico
Lovely wine, we got the whole bottle. (We finished it all too... :O)

JACOBS CAESAR SALAD with white anchovy (5/5)

Since we ordered all steaks for the mains, the salad to start with was a good choice.

Part of the points are allocated to the presentation of this dish, they prepare it in front of you.
A mini-show & a good food experience :D

SNAKE RIVER FARMS WAGYU-ID, USA
* STRIPLOIN (5+/5)

SO DELISH!
The wagyu beef melts in your mouth. It's super soft and tender and we didn't really need to use the knife to cut it.
So delicious - highly recommending this!! :)

USDA PRIME BLACK ANGUS-NE, USA [AGED 90 DAYS]
* RIBEYE (5/5)

This was also a great choice - but the Snake River Farms Wagyu definitely takes the win for the night. Both of our steaks were cooked medium-rare :)

DESSERT:

HOUSE CHURNED ICE CREAM & SORBET (4/5)
(chocolate chip cookie dough, toasted coconut & mango)

* Thanks for the bday message bb :D

I chose the chocolate chip cookie dough and toasted coconut flavour and my boyfriend chose the mango flavour. Mango and coconut were GREAT - the chocolate chip cookie dough was okay.

We were going to order the cheesecake but we got too stuffed from the meats at the end haha. When we come here again, cheesecake it is. :P

Orange Julep Gibeau - Montreal *.

Orange Julep Gibeau is a must-go place in Montreal! My friends from McGill highly recommended this place as a "chill spot" - usually more packed at night.

Despite the roads here being confusing (one-way etc.), it was worth the confusion haha. We arrived at this location late afternoon, even though that wasn't during prime-time, there were line-ups already O_o;

Highlights:

* Poutine
So much yummy gravy for a sauce-boss right here!

* Hot dogs
How do you make them so good..? Keep in mind that the hot dog is smaller than your usual hot dog stand sizes; I think those who are "hangry" can actually consume 2-3 hot dogs from here haha

* Orange juice
Duh! It's really delicious - it's creamy and kind of milky? I'm making it sound weird but it tastes so delicious. I bought a few jars back home :D

Reuben’s Deli & Steaks - Montreal *.

We came to Reuben's Deli & Steaks for breakfast.

This place is so nice and cozy when it was really chilly outside.
The decor has a retro-70s theme with jukeboxes near the bar.

Service was excellent - very friendly :)

DRINKS:

Hot chocolate with whipped cream
Orange juice
Coffee

GRILLED CHEESE (4/5)
(A single-decker sandwich loaded with melted cheddar cheese.)

This was so yummy - cheesy heaven! Came with crispy potato wedges on the side.

THE R.D. SKILLET (4/5)
(Sautéed onions, sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese and slices of Montreal Smoked Meat.)

The smoked meat was very tasty :P
The portions are huge, more like a dinner during breakfast time for us.. You will be stuffed!!

Le Club Chasse et Pêche - Montreal *.

For our "official" anniversary dinner, we had dinner at Le Club Chasse et Pêche

Regarder ma main!! *waves*
Service was excellent - the servers were very knowledgeable about their menu and answered our questions about the menu very well. Et oui, en français ;)

The atmosphere is romantic and dim-lit. Very classy :)
Thanks Pbb

DRINKS:

weingut Robert Weil, Rheingau, riesling trocken 2013
(pour moi - not passing a chance at seafood & vin blanc!)

celler Hidalgo Albert, Priorat ''1270 a Vuit'' 2008
(pour mon copain)

THE MAINS:

TRUFFLE PASTA (5/5)

This was the special of the day and I highly recommend this! I hope they continue making this dish as a regular. The truffle flavour tasted amazing - a very nice combination with the creamy pasta. Loved this!

BRAISED PIGLET RISOTTO (3/5)
(with foie gras shavings)

I got to admit, first bite was AMAZING! But the more I ate this, the saltier it got.
The foie gras shavings were perfect though (but keep in mind, I'm biased about FGs, I love them! haha) P was like "omg so good * nom nom nom * then, "blehh too saltay" - like. I. said. from. the. START! >:)!

OCEAN DELIVERY (4/5)
(Cod fish, black rice, turnips, russula)

This was so delicious. The cod fish was soft and the side dishes paired well with it. I needed something on the lighter end as my dinner from the night before was too fatty haha.

VENISON (4/5)
(hubbard squash, gnocchi, girolle, Louis d'or)

The meat was delicious and tender. I liked the purée portion of the dish - adds so much flavour to the dish!

P clearly had better lighting on his end of the table :P.. haha happy anniversary bb!
