老時光燒肉酒肴 - Hualien, Taiwan *.

On our road trip to Hualien [Thx to PBB M&D for all the accommodations :D] , we were walking around the night market when we saw this cute Japanese restaurant 老時光燒肉酒肴 and decided to have dinner here. 

Service was excellent. We were all pretty famished so it was nice to have an izakaya around to choose whatever we want :)

We got our cola in a glass bottle (It's been a while lol)

FRIED CRAB (5/5)

This was so delicious! 
Loved the batter and sauce - it didn't drain out the taste of the crab either :D

SASHIMI BOWL (5/5)

Since we were near the port, all the raw fish that we ordered were sooo fresh and delicious :) 
I liked the sweet shrimp the most.

FISH SOUP (4/5)

Miso soup was used as the base, we had huge chunks of fish pieces in the pot. 
Our favourite item was the fish ball which had sweet mustard inside :O!

GRILLED HAMACHI and SABA (4/5)

Fresh and yummy.

This soup was more on the healthy end because the fish balls were cooked in clear broth.

GRILLED VEGGIE (3.5/5)

I can't remember what the name of this veggie was called. 
It tasted like a harder-to-chew version of radish. Would be better if they used more sauce :P

ONIGIRI (5/5)

The display was so cute. I loved how it came sizzling hot with the nori seaweed tucked on the side. The bottom of the mini bowl had holes in it, which is perfect to keep the nori seaweed nice and crispy. Loved this one! :)
